Wind Turbine Maintenance Technician

Students explore the theoretical knowledge base supporting wind turbines and the practical maintenance procedures required to maintain turbine output availability.  Safe work practice is stressed throughout the program with numerous opportunities to demonstrate safe work practice procedures on a resident training tower. Upon completion of the program, students are prepared to enter the field as wind turbine technicians, or to progress to higher levels of certification within the industry.

Prerequisites

  • Provide transcripts indicating Grade 10 level completion that includes: Grade 10 English and Grade 10 Math (Applications or Principles)(, both with 67 per cent (C+) or higher; or
  • Complete successfully the Wind Turbine Maintenance Assessment with a 70 per cent grade or higher.
